The Motor Control Center (MCC) and the main 600V power breakers in the Central Heating Plant had passed their expected service life and were no longer maintainable. A new PDC was installed and new local combination motor starters were located in the field to replace the MCC. The main power breakers and electromechanical protection relays were also replaced by retrofitting with a cradle in cradle assembly. Evolve prepared a coordination and arc flash study for implementation. The electrical shutdown for this project required extensive coordination with user groups of multiple buildings either powered or serviced from the heating/cooling plant. Standby power was provided during the electrical shutdown to maintain building operations and critical telecom equipment.
